The Workshop provides multiple benefits to its beneficiaries. Researchers are unanimous that depression is the number one cause of death amongst the disabled. Depression is in turn positively correlated to despair over one’s inability to work or being able to provide for oneself or family.
The Workshop extricates the disabled from this sorry state by providing them an opportunity to work and earn a living. The beneficiaries are brought out of their miserable and often solitary states of self-pity to an environment where they can relate to others of like-mindedness and feel loved. The suicidal tendencies prevalent in most handicapped people are, through this approach, completely exorcised.
The Workshop helps restore the dignity and confidence of the disabled as there are many who left The Workshop to pursue their careers after having been admitted to The Workshop without the confidence and skills to compete in the job market. It has thus acted as a springboard for many disabled people in the area of its operations.
